Biography & Background:
I received comprehensive training in cell biology and immunology during my Ph.D. at KAIST. My postdoctoral journey began at the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine (KIOM), developing in vitro antiviral drug screening systems. In November 2019, I joined Dr. Mark Nicolls' laboratory at Stanford, merging my immunological expertise with vascular biology to study lymphatic and pulmonary diseases.
Research Focus:
My independent research program investigates the communication between the T cell and the vascular microenvironment in inflammatory diseases.
Key Question: How do dysfunctional vascular cells actively regulate T cell activation, differentiation, and immune response?
Experimental Approach: Integrating animal disease models, co-culture systems, multi-parametric flow cytometry, cell sorting, and immunofluorescence imaging.
Goal: Uncovering novel mechanism-based therapeutic strategies for inflammatory diseases.
